What's Case and Pound Price?
We don’t believe you should pay more just to try a color.
Most suppliers mark up single rods and tubes — but we don’t. Even if it means we make less, we believe it’s worth it for the artist. You should be able to affordably explore, test, and fall in love with new colors without being penalized for ordering small quantities.
At Asheville Glass Supply experimentation should be accessible — not expensive.
Why is there a 1.5 oz minimum purchase?
Most glass rods weigh between 1.3 oz and 1.7 oz, with an average of around 1.5 oz. That’s why we price based on full-rod weight — so you always receive a complete rod, with nothing cut off or shorted.

We are Grateful Glass Studios, Jam Glass, & Kitchen Glass Designs — founded by Derek Hutchins, Joshua Murch, and Joshua Kitchen.
After Hurricane Helene devastated Asheville, NC, it wiped out nearly all the local glass supply companies and studios. We saw our community suddenly left without access to the tools, materials, and support that working artists need to survive.
So, we decided to step up — not just as another supplier but as a true hub.
We are building a community-driven supply center, resource network, and gathering point for glass artists, makers, and collectors. Our mission is simple:
Restore what was lost — and build something even better.
A place where artists aren’t just supplied — they are supported, seen, and connected.
Where are your products manufactured?
Our products are manufactured both locally and globally. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure our products are high quality and a fair value.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. We are working diligently to accurately reflect your costs on shipping, and in the meantime we are able to cut your rods and tubes in half or thirds to save you money. If you would like for us to cut your items, please feel free to give us a call. This way, you will always know the shipping price before you purchase.
